ftp stands for file transfer protocol, in other words, a way to send the files on your computer to your website.

--first, you'll need to download an ftp client onto your computer. i recommend coreftp, its fast and pretty easy to understand, and that's what i'll be using my tutorial for. go to coreftp.com to get the free download.

if you can't download one onto your computer, go to net2ftp.com and they have an online ftp you can use, although i don't recommend it.

bandwith is the amount of bandwith [space] you will have to put stuff on your site. certain things take a certain amount of space. you'll likely get more than enough from your host.

-----------------------------------

anyways, once it's downloaded, make sure you have a file that you want to put onto your site. make sure it's a notepad file, saved as .html or .php, anything except .txt that way it won't just show coding.

click the lightening bolt at the top,

or, sometimes it may just come up, and you won't have to click it.

after that, you'll need to follow this picture.

make sure you follow what i have there.
make sure your username is, yoursite@yourhost.com [for example, mine is painedexp@silent-autumn.com]

then, after you've connected, [make sure your connected to your server] and select the file you would like to transfer to your site.

then, the file should be transfered to your website.
